Does the original 2019 AirPods Pro case align with a MagSafe charger?
Apple identifies the 2019 AirPods Pro Wireless Charging Case as A2190 and says it works with Qi-certified chargers and Lightning. The later 2021 MagSafe case is also A2190 but adds MagSafe alignment. Apple distinguishes them by the last four serial digits: 0C6L or LKKT for the 2019 case, 1059 or 1NRC for the MagSafe case. Do not infer the edition from appearance.
Explore this need in the finder →How long does this Pro 1 package last with ANC?
Apple lists up to 4.5 hours on one charge with ANC, or up to five hours with ANC and Transparency off. The case claim is more than 24 hours of listening overall, not one continuous ANC session. These are manufacturer test figures, not current-battery or independent-test results.
Explore this need in the finder →Is the A2190 case rated IPX4?
Apple's Pro 1 specification describes IPX4 sweat and water resistance for the earbuds; it does not give the original charging case that rating. Keep the case dry and do not charge wet earbuds. The claim is not waterproofing or permission to swim or shower.

Quick take
This assessment is for first-generation AirPods Pro with Apple's original 2019 Wireless Charging Case, not the similar-looking 2021 MagSafe-alignment case. Both cases carry model A2190, which makes the distinction easy to miss in a resale listing. The buds provide a sealed silicone-tip fit, active noise cancellation and Transparency mode; the case charges over Qi or Lightning. Apple publishes up to 4.5 hours of listening on one earbud charge with ANC. These are documented manufacturer specifications, not hands-on listening or a battery test.
Why the case edition deserves its own check
On the original bundle, Apple identifies the earbuds as A2083 and A2084 and the Wireless Charging Case as A2190. It lists a Lightning port and Qi-certified wireless charging. The later MagSafe-alignment edition shares the A2190 number and broadly similar exterior, but its serial-number ending is different: Apple lists 0C6L or LKKT for the original 2019 case and 1059 or 1NRC for the MagSafe case. If a particular charger arrangement matters, ask for a clear view of the case serial or pairing and do not treat a product photo as proof.
The original package included a Lightning-to-USB-C cable, documentation and three silicone-tip sizes. Those are historical box contents, not a guarantee that a used listing still has all pieces. A replacement case can also change what is included without changing the earbuds. Check the actual case, cable, tip set and seller return terms separately.
Sealed fit and the two noise modes
The Pro 1 is a sealed in-ear design. Apple lists three silicone ear-tip sizes and now documents an Ear Tip Fit Test for the original Pro generation. That test can help identify a seal in supported Apple software, but it is not a comfort or retention verdict. Ears differ; a tip can feel intrusive or loosen even when the electronic fit check passes. The finder classifies the model as sealed because that is the intended tip arrangement, not because every wearer will get a seal.
Apple's technical sheet names both Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode, with a press-and-hold control to switch between them. That establishes feature availability, not how much sound a particular person or environment will experience. A leak around a tip can affect isolation, so fit remains relevant even when ANC is present. The H1 chip, microphones and vent system are listed by Apple, but those specifications do not substitute for an independent call or audio quality test; none was conducted for this assessment.
Runtime and water limits
Apple states up to 4.5 hours on a single charge with ANC, or up to five hours when ANC and Transparency are off. It describes the original case as providing more than 24 hours of listening overall and says five minutes in the case gives around an hour of listening. The total-with-case claim is not one uninterrupted ANC session. Real duration can vary with settings and cell age; a six-year-old unit may perform very differently from Apple's test sample, so the published maximum should not be read as a used-battery promise.
Apple publishes IPX4 sweat and water resistance for the Pro earbuds. I found no IP rating for this original case, so do not extend the buds-only label to it. IPX4 is also not waterproofing: Apple's care guidance excludes swimming and showering, notes resistance can diminish, and advises against charging wet earbuds. Wipe and let the earbuds dry before returning them to the case; keep the case itself away from splashes.
Connectivity and what remains unknown
The source sheet lists Bluetooth 5.0. In the reviewed Apple material I found no basis for assigning a generic Bluetooth codec list or two simultaneous Bluetooth source connections to this package. AAC appearing in some Apple test protocols would not by itself prove which codec a particular non-Apple host negotiates. If a codec, multipoint handoff or a particular control is essential, verify the exact host and software support rather than inferring it from the Apple ecosystem.
Buying an old Pro 1 responsibly
Apple's model support page lists a sound-issue service program for some first-generation Pro units manufactured before October 2020, with a limited service period measured from first retail sale. That was a bounded repair program, not a recall or a standing warranty, and should not be assumed to cover a listing now. Ask whether a unit had the reported crackling/static or ANC issue, whether Apple evaluated it, and what return protection applies. A seller's statement that a pair was “serviced” is not proof that the current batteries or both earbuds are healthy.
Apple's current AirPods comparison centers on newer generations; it does not establish a present first-generation offer or resale stock. Consider this configuration only if the Qi-plus-Lightning case matches your setup and the exact unit can be verified. Check earbud model numbers A2083/A2084, the 2019 A2190 serial suffix, included tips and cable, battery condition, cleaning, warranty and return terms. If MagSafe magnetic alignment matters, compare the separately assessed 2021 MagSafe-case Pro 1 instead. The finder's earlier, sealed, active-ANC view puts this in the right feature group; it cannot prove fit, condition, authenticity, compatibility or availability.
