Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is the M2 IEBT Black sealed in-ear or fully true wireless?
The exact M2 IEBT manual calls it a neckband headphone and lists ear-canal coupling; its drawing shows separate in-ear earpieces connected to the neckband. The manual says ear adapters can be changed. It is not two independent earbuds with a charging case, and these facts cannot promise a personal seal or comfort.
Explore this need in the finder →Does article 507353 support AAC, and what does its ten-hour figure mean?
The exact manual lists SBC, AAC and aptX, and says the M2 IEBT is Bluetooth 4.1; the host still must support and negotiate the codec. Its specification states ten hours in A2DP music mode, without a separate duration for any listed codec. This is not an ANC runtime, independent test, or estimate of a used battery.
Explore this need in the finder →Can eight remembered pairings stand in for two simultaneous devices or active ANC?
No. The manual says the headset saves up to eight Bluetooth device profiles and tries its most-recently connected device when switched on; it does not document two simultaneous connections. It also identifies no active ANC mode or ANC-on duration, so the ten-hour A2DP maximum cannot meet an ANC-runtime requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →This review covers the U.S. Sennheiser MOMENTUM In-Ear Wireless Black, model code M2 IEBT, article 507353. It is an earlier Bluetooth neckband with sealed in-ear earpieces, not a pair of independent true-wireless earbuds. Sennheiser marks this exact article end of life. This is a source-based assessment of the documented product, not a fit, listening, call or battery test; the condition of any present-day unit is unknown.
First identify the original M2 IEBT, not MOMENTUM Free
The model name is easy to misread because Sennheiser later sold another neckband under the close model code M2 IEBT SW. The U.S. record for this product calls it MOMENTUM In-Ear Wireless Black and assigns article 507353. Its product JSON exposes one Default Title configuration, barcode 615104282391, and a distinct manufacturer product and variant ID. The other MOMENTUM Free Black is article 507490 with the separate support code M2 IEBT SW; compare Sennheiser's exact M2 IEBT SW U.S. record and the article 507490 assessment. Those are different U.S. products, not a finish change or interchangeable article number.
The distinction matters in use, not just on a label. The original M2 IEBT manual specifies Bluetooth 4.1, NFC pairing and a ten-hour A2DP music maximum. The M2 IEBT SW family manual for article 507490 describes Bluetooth 4.2 and a different six-hour A2DP figure, plus features not established for this M2 IEBT. Do not transfer a later model's capability or runtime to the product in this review.
A cable-linked ear-canal fit with replaceable adapters
Sennheiser describes an around-the-neck headset with ear-canal coupling. The two earpieces connect to the neck-worn control section; the official image shows the black neckband, red accent cable and in-ear pieces. This is not a charging-case design, and the supplied carry case is for storage rather than extra battery power. The manual explains changing the ear adapters, so a buyer can check whether a complete offer still has the sizes needed for a fit trial.
Ear-canal coupling is a design fact, not a promise that a given tip will seal comfortably or stay secure. No personal fit assessment was possible here. A used or open-box offer may not contain every original adapter, so ask for a package photo and check the exact return window before relying on a particular size.
Classic Bluetooth with SBC, AAC, aptX and NFC
The model-specific manual lists SBC, AAC and aptX over Bluetooth 4.1. It also describes NFC as a short-range pairing route when the phone supports it. The host still needs compatible software and codec support, and the codec must actually be negotiated; the presence of aptX on the headset does not make every phone or app use it. The manual does not list aptX Low Latency for this product, so that feature should not be borrowed from the later M2 IEBT SW family.
Pairing memory is another detail worth keeping narrow. The M2 IEBT can save profiles for up to eight Bluetooth devices and tries its most recently connected host at startup. That is not documentation of two simultaneous connections or Multipoint. If simultaneous device connections are essential, this source set does not establish the requirement. The headset also supports USB audio through its supplied cable for computer playback, a wired option that is separate from its Bluetooth codec selection.
Ten hours is an A2DP specification, not an ANC promise
The manual's specification table gives ten hours of operating time in A2DP music mode and about 1.5 hours to charge. It does not split that music maximum into separate SBC, AAC or aptX figures. A published A2DP maximum is not an independent test and cannot forecast the capacity of an older battery. Although the manual also describes calls, it does not give a separate talk-time maximum in the reviewed specification table.
Charging is through Micro-USB on the neckband itself. The original package list names a USB cable, carry case, adapters and printed guides; it does not describe a charging case or a wall adapter. The manual also describes a USB-connected computer audio route. If a seller advertises a charging case, USB-C or wireless charging, verify that claim against the exact article rather than assuming it belongs to this product.
No documented active ANC or water rating
The M2 IEBT manual and exact U.S. product description document Bluetooth listening and calls, but do not identify active noise cancellation or an ANC-on music duration. Its sealed tips may block some sound passively when they fit, but that is not an electronic ANC feature and does not satisfy an ANC-runtime requirement. The manual says to keep the product dry and away from liquids; it does not assign an IP rating or a sweat/splash certification. That is a reason to avoid wet-use assumptions, not a measured water test.
Check the older unit and repair path before deciding
Before considering an earlier listing, match the name MOMENTUM In-Ear Wireless Black and article 507353; do not substitute MOMENTUM Free article 507490 or its Special Edition. Ask whether both earpieces, neckband controls, Micro-USB charging, cable, adapters and carry case are present and working. Sennheiser's model-specific service page says economical non-warranty repair is unavailable. That does not prove every third-party repair is impossible, but it makes the seller's stated condition, warranty and return terms especially important. The manufacturer's end-of-life notice, original ten-hour specification and product image do not establish the present seller, battery health, package completeness or price.
