Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is Conversation Clear Plus a sealed in-ear design?
Yes. Sennheiser's manual specifies ear-canal coupling and S/M/L silicone adapters, plus S/M/L fins. Its fit steps aim for a snug seal, but fit, comfort and seal remain personal.
Explore this need in the finder →Does it include active noise cancellation?
Yes. The product page lists ANC alongside speech enhancement and ambient awareness; the app offers Relax, Communication and Stream modes. These features do not make the product a hearing aid or establish its effectiveness for an individual.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it remain connected to two devices at once?
The manual says it reconnects to the last two Bluetooth devices used and remembers up to eight pairings. It permits audio playback from only one device at a time, so two connections do not mean two simultaneous streams.
Explore this need in the finder →Which Bluetooth audio codec is documented?
The model manual lists SBC for Bluetooth audio. Do not assume AAC, aptX or LE Audio; the playback device must also support the chosen codec.
Explore this need in the finder →This assessment is based on Sennheiser's U.S. product page, the model manual, the exact U.S. product record and manufacturer service information. It is a document-based analysis, not a listening test or a claim of personal use. The U.S. article is 119-3007-P810; Sennheiser marks it end-of-life on its own site.
A conversation-focused true-wireless design
Conversation Clear Plus is not simply a music earbud with a different name. Sennheiser describes speech enhancement, automatic scene detection, active noise cancellation and ambient awareness, and the manual organizes listening into Relax, Communication and Stream modes. Communication mode is meant to let a wearer hear conversation without removing the earbuds; Stream mode blends Bluetooth audio with the surrounding sound. These are design goals described by the manufacturer, not independent proof that speech will be clearer for every listener or in every room.
The manufacturer also draws a firm boundary: this product is not a hearing aid and is not intended to treat hearing loss. Its product information advises people who do not meet its stated self-selection guidance to consult an audiologist or ear, nose and throat clinician. It should not be presented as a substitute for clinical assessment or a hearing device selected for a diagnosed need.
Fit involves both an ear tip and a retention fin
The manual identifies ear-canal coupling. It specifies silicone ear adapters in S, M and L, together with ear fins in S, M and L; the fins brace against the outer ear while the adapters form the in-canal fit. The model-specific package description lists the pair of earbuds, charging case, USB-C cable, those three tip and fin sizes, and printed guides. That list describes the original package, not the contents of an older or secondhand unit.
A size assortment gives a wearer options, but it cannot establish a comfortable seal or secure retention for a particular ear. The manufacturer's fitting sequence asks the wearer to try combinations and position the buds snugly. A poor fit can change both isolation and the intended speech or ANC experience, so checking the exact replacement tips and fins matters if a used set is missing pieces. The exact U.S. product page now identifies this model as end-of-life; it does not tell us whether any current third-party listing is complete or serviceable.
Modes and app setup are central, not optional polish
The Conversation Clear app is the configuration route for the product's sound profile and listening controls. Sennheiser's manual says to use the app for full feature adjustment and requires a Sennheiser account. It also describes the earbuds as needing connection to the app when pairing with Bluetooth devices. This is a more involved setup dependency than a product whose companion app only adds optional equalizer presets. A prospective owner should first check that the app can still be installed and used with their phone and account; the older manual does not establish today's operating-system compatibility.
Automatic scene detection and directional microphone behavior are especially relevant to its conversation-oriented purpose, while ambient awareness and ANC give different ways to manage surroundings. The modes remain user-adjustable through the app, and the manual includes specific control behavior for calls and streamed audio. None of that establishes a medical outcome, and the model should be evaluated on the exact interaction a buyer needs rather than on a broad promise of better hearing.
Bluetooth support is deliberately narrow
The manual documents Bluetooth 4.2 and SBC audio, with A2DP and hands-free profiles. It does not list AAC, aptX, LDAC or LE Audio codecs. A modern phone may still connect over Bluetooth, but a higher-quality codec preference cannot be assumed for this model. The source device must support SBC, and app setup remains part of the product's documented path.
There is a useful distinction between remembered pairings, live connections and audio streams. Conversation Clear Plus can retain up to eight paired-device profiles and attempts to connect to the last two devices used. The manual lists two active connections, yet explicitly says audio playback is possible from only one device at a time. That supports a two-connection switching setup, not simultaneous music from two hosts. It is a meaningful feature for moving between a phone and another source, but the exact host and app behavior should be verified before relying on it.
The nine-hour figure is not an ANC runtime
Sennheiser publishes up to nine hours from an earbud charge and up to two additional charging cycles from the case. It does not state a codec, volume, scene, ANC setting or test routine alongside the manual's nine-hour figure. Because ANC is a feature on this model, that general maximum cannot be repurposed as a documented ANC-on result. The matcher therefore does not count it for any minimum ANC-hours request. The manual lists roughly five hours for a full system charge and says a 15-minute charge provides one hour of playback, also without the detailed use conditions a buyer might want.
USB-C cable charging is documented for the case. The reviewed materials do not establish whether wireless charging is also supported, so neither a wireless-charging requirement nor a strict wired-only requirement should be inferred from the port alone. The earbuds have an IPX4 splash rating; the manual says the case is not splash waterproof and must remain dry. Keep the case away from moisture, dry wet earbuds before docking, and do not use the IPX4 mark as a swimming or showering claim.
What to verify before considering an older unit
This is a specialized, app-configured earbud whose documented strengths are speech-oriented modes, ANC, ambient awareness and two-device connectivity. Its drawbacks are equally specific: a sealed fit that may not suit every ear, SBC-only audio, one stream at a time, no published ANC-specific battery duration, and an app/account dependency. Sennheiser lists no economical out-of-warranty repair service for this product, so the exact battery state and working condition of an older offer matter; the manufacturer's statement does not diagnose any individual unit.
Before purchase, confirm the exact article number, both earbuds and their matching case, the S/M/L adapters and fins, a working USB-C charging path, current app installation and account setup, and the seller's condition, return policy and warranty. If the need is treatment for hearing loss, this is not the product Sennheiser describes for that purpose. No current price, stock, seller offer, battery health or hands-on performance has been assessed here.
