Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Does Galaxy Buds3 Pro seal with ear tips?
Yes. Samsung US describes separate S, M and L silicone tips and a fit test. Check your own fit and return window; the manufacturer instructions do not prove personal comfort or a seal.
Explore this need in the finder →Does Buds3 Pro have ambient and adaptive noise modes?
Samsung lists ANC, Ambient Sound and Adaptive Noise Control for Buds3 Pro. These feature names document mode availability, not a measured level of noise reduction or a promise about your surroundings.
Explore this need in the finder →What is its ANC-on playback maximum?
Samsung's SM-R630 family specification says up to six hours of ANC-on music per earbud charge and up to 26 hours with the case. The six-hour maximum is not assigned to one named codec, is not measured here, and can vary with settings and battery condition.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the case charge wirelessly and is it water resistant?
Samsung lists the case as wirelessly chargeable but explicitly says it is not water resistant. The IP57 test applies to the earbuds only. A charging pad and wall charger are separate from the listed U.S. box contents.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the earlier sealed ANC version reach a six-hour floor with a wireless case?
Samsung's published SM-R630 maximum is six ANC-on music hours per earbud charge and 26 with case recharges, without a codec-specific split. The reviewed Silver configuration has sealed tips and a wireless case. Seven hours per charge is beyond that published maximum; neither boundary predicts an older battery's present condition.
Explore this need in the finder →Research-based assessment: Galaxy Buds3 Pro is Samsung's 2024 sealed in-ear model with ANC, an ambient mode, adaptive noise controls and a wirelessly chargeable case. It is a different wearing design from the open, tip-free Buds3: the Pro includes S, M and L tips, while Buds3 does not. Samsung publishes up to six hours of ANC-on music per charge, but does not tie that maximum to one named codec. The IP57 claim covers the earbuds only; the charging case is not water resistant. This is a source-based comparison, not a fit test, listening trial, battery measurement or claim about a particular seller's current stock.
The sealed shape is the first decision
Samsung's U.S. wearing guide says to choose a tip size, check for gaps and adjust the earbud angle. The package includes S/M/L tips and a fit test is offered. Those setup steps do not show that a tip will seal comfortably in a particular ear; check both sides yourself and keep return terms in view.
Ordinary Buds3 is open-type without silicone tips. Choosing Pro means accepting canal-tip contact, not merely selecting another feature tier. The supplied sizes help you check fit but cannot predict comfort or retention.
Noise-control modes are not a performance score
Samsung lists ANC, Ambient Sound, Adaptive Noise Control, Voice Detect and Siren Detect. Check current Galaxy Wearable support and setup before relying on event-triggered modes. Feature names establish controls, not an independently measured result in a plane, office or street.
Buds3 also has ANC, but not the Pro's listed Ambient Sound or Adaptive Noise Control. Do not collapse ANC, ambient listening and physical fit into one yes/no feature. A seal is not hearing protection and cannot promise awareness of a particular alarm or person.
Two drivers and Samsung's high-resolution route
The Pro's two-way speaker separates a woofer and planar tweeter and uses dual amplifiers; Buds3 has one-way speakers. This describes hardware, not a listening verdict. Samsung's SSC-UHQ route reaches up to 24-bit/96 kHz on selected compatible Galaxy products and software, not every Android phone, computer or iPhone.
The R630 family also lists AAC, SBC, Seamless Codec, SSC-UHQ, Bluetooth 5.4 and 360 Audio. Auto Switch needs compatible Galaxy devices and setup, but does not document two simultaneous Bluetooth hosts. No LC3 matcher claim is made from the available codec table.
Read the runtime and charging numbers by condition
The SM-R630 specification gives up to six music hours with ANC on and 26 hours including case recharges; ANC off is seven per charge and 30 total. Six is a manufacturer maximum, not a result observed here, a guarantee for an older battery or a codec-specific figure. The case total means recharge opportunities between sessions. Samsung says settings and signal affect actual time.
The case supports wireless and USB-C charging. The U.S. box page lists earbuds, case, cable and tips; the wall charger is separate and a pad is not listed. Check the actual contents of a used unit.
IP57 is not a waterproof case
Samsung's IP57 lab condition is fresh water up to one meter for 30 minutes. It advises against beach or pool use, says the case is not water resistant and warns damage can undermine protection. Dry earbuds and hands before returning them to the case. Wireless charging does not change the water rating.

Who should shortlist Galaxy Buds3 Pro?
Earlier Silver SM-R630NZAAXAR is worth comparing if you want sealed tips, ANC, separate ambient/adaptive modes or the two-way speaker. It is less suitable if you prefer an open body, need an IP-rated case or cannot use Galaxy-only features. Samsung does not publish the six-hour ANC figure for a named codec, so do not assume the same runtime in every mode.
- Match the Silver SM-R630NZAAXAR or White SM-R630NZWAXAR exact generation and verify that S/M/L tips and the case are actually included.
- Try the sealed fit personally and check return terms; the fit test is setup guidance, not a comfort guarantee.
- Verify the exact Galaxy host and software before relying on UHQ, Adaptive Noise Control, Voice/Siren Detect or Auto Switch.
- Plan for the charging method and a separate wall charger or wireless pad as needed; check the cable in the actual package.
- Keep the case dry. IP57 applies to the earbuds only and Samsung says not to use them at the beach or pool.
Bottom line: Buds3 Pro is the sealed-tip member of the family, with separate ambient/adaptive modes and a two-way speaker. Its six-hour ANC maximum and wireless case do not establish codec-specific runtime, personal fit or real-world cancellation. Earlier status, Galaxy host limits and the unrated case remain central tradeoffs.
Primary evidence: Samsung's U.S. 2024 availability announcement, SM-R630 family specifications and comparison, the U.S. wearing/fit instructions, U.S. package contents and the R530/R630 English manual. Shared-family manual content is used only for operation and care; Canadian package details are not transferred to the U.S.
